Our 6th graders brought science to life by building their very own self-sustaining terrariums! Rather than just reading about complex ecological systems in a textbook, students got hands-on to see these concepts in real-time: Photosynthesis: Watching how light energy drives plant growth right inside the container. Energy Flow: Observing sunlight enter the system to power producer plants. Cycling of Matter: Tracking the mini water cycle (evaporation, condensation, precipitation) trapped inside the sealed jar.

Our science students have been busy putting theory into practice across our biology and anatomy classes this week:

Pre-AP Biology: Students tested molecular properties in a Polarity Lab, investigating how soap, water, and milk interact. They followed up by exploring the pH levels of common household solutions to see acids and bases in action.

AP Biology: Taking a visual approach to complex concepts, AP Bio students created detailed table drawings to model and review cell membrane structure and transport functions.

Anatomy & Physiology: Students rotated through interactive Histology Review Stations, examining microscopic tissue types and sharpening their identification skills.

Great work by our Eagles as they collaborate, experiment, and dive deep into the life sciences!

Students in Ms. Everman's class combined scientific research on bee breeds with hands-on, 3D modeling. Seeing learning brought to life like this gives our kids real pride in their hard work. Thank you, Ms. Everman, for investing the extra time and creative energy into making learning so engaging and memorable.

Our students have been hard at work, diving deep into hands-on learning, problem-solving, and test days:

📐 Mrs. Dickson’s Precalculus students collaborating on solving quadratic equations.
📊 Mrs. Dickson’s Quantitative Reasoning class locking in focus for their very first test.
🔢 Mrs. Fisher’s Pre-Algebra class conquering a task card activity to review approximating square roots.
🧠 Mr. York’s 7th Grade class staying focused while working through their task cards.
✏️ Mrs. Bye’s 8th Grade Algebra class jumping right into their new assignment.
🔬 Mrs. Hodge’s Pre-AP Biology students exploring details up close during their Microscope Lab.

So proud of our students and teachers for making learning engaging, rigorous, and fun!

Our students have been busy engaging in interactive and meaningful learning experiences across our classrooms:

🔬 8th Grade Science: Mrs. Haddon’s students participated in a hands-on Natural Resources Simulation to better understand environmental sustainability and resource management!

🏛️ Government: Ms. Henry’s Government class had the honor of hearing from Sergeant First Class Frank Gardner, who shared his real-life experiences serving in Iraq. His visit added valuable insight to their ongoing project evaluating the effectiveness of government.

🌱 6th Grade Science: Mr. Laney’s class took a creative approach to photosynthesis by creating interactive tab booklets—and even used chalk markers to map out concepts right on their desks!

We love seeing our teachers bring lessons to life! Keep up the great work, Eagles!
