Congratulations to Elizabeth Dobson, South Putnam's DAR Good Citizen! Elizabeth, a semi-finalist for the Lilly Scholarship and President of the South Putnam Champions Together Club, is known for her academic excellence, athletic achievement in bowling, and service through many organizations such as the Lions Club, NHS, the Putnam County Rabbit Club, the Putnamville Church of Faith, FFA and Spanish Club. As Mrs. Henry wrote, her efforts, "reflect not only her willingness to serve, but also her heart for others and her belief in community connection." Elizabeth, with a smile as big as her heart, sets herself apart through her integrity, dedication, reliability and empathy. She plans to pursue nursing after graduation.

Congratulations to Tinley Ames. She was selected as one of the county-wide DAR essay winners at the middle school level. She wrote about Samuel Adams. He and John Hancock formed the Sons of Liberty. They protested British taxation and control over the American colonies. Their efforts helped lead to the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Tinley, joined by her parents Kole and Brandy Ames, presented her essay at the Putnam County Library to members of the DAR and guests. Well done, Tinley!

Our students are deep into their final projects for Frankenstein. The classroom is buzzing with creativity as they translate their analysis into amazing visual displays. They're leaning on the timeline they've built on the whiteboard, using every sticky note and chapter detail to bring Mary Shelley's epic novel to life.

FFA is sponsoring a Gift and Food Giving Tree. Pick up a tag at a school event or contact Helen Eaglin, Amanda Line, or Cameron Frazier. Gift items need to be returned to school by December 15th.
