Parent Letter September 9, 2020
It is hard to believe that we are in our 5th week of school already. Our students have done an outstanding job of settling in with all of our changes this year. I hesitate to call this our “new normal” because I sure hope that some time we can return to some of our “old ways”.

With all the changes this year, I am writing to all of you about a big change for us. We are going to move to electronic communication from the school. There will be some things that we do need to send home in paper form but as much as we can do electronically, we will send that
way.

Items that you should expect to arrive electronically through DOJO, Harmony, and/or Google Classroom:
Redbird Reporter
Classroom newsletters
Reminders from the office
Progress Reports (will be sent out 9/10)
Report Cards

We have been very fortunate to stay as healthy as we have at Fillmore Elementary. I sure hope that this continues. In the event that your child needs to stay home due to COVID-19 related situations, teachers will assign work through Google Classroom. Going along with communication being sent home electronically, the assignments will be sent electronically. This will allow our students to stay up to date on their assignments and keep everyone involved healthy. We understand that all situations are different but we do expect students to keep up with assignments when they are away from school.

As always, please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or if I can help in any way.
