Welcome to South Putnam Community School Corporation

South Putnam Community School corporation is located in south-central Putnam County.  The corporation covers an area of 163 square miles and is crossed by Interstate 70 and U.S. Highway 40 to the east and west, and U.S. Highway 231 to the north and south. South Putnam has approximately 1,150 students in Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade among three buildings including South Putnam Middle School/ High School, Central Elementary and Fillmore Elementary.  South Putnam is committed to equipping students for professional and personal success by guiding students to excellence according the Indiana State Standards and the five C's: communication, collaboration, creativity, critical thinking and character.

Students can show school spirit by participating in the following dress-up days: Monday, September 14th - Pajama Day Tuesday, September 15th - Hawaiian Day Wednesday, September 16th - Tie-Dye Day Thursday, September 17th - Camo Day Friday, September 18th - Red, White & Blue Day

Important Food Service Information
The South Putnam Community School Corporation is pleased to announce under the recent waivers granted by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), we will begin serving all reimbursable breakfast and lunches on 9/14/2020 for FREE to any current enrolled South Putnam Community School student. These waivers are good until December 31, 2020 or until funds are depleted.

Parent Letter September 9, 2020
It is hard to believe that we are in our 5th week of school already. Our students have done an outstanding job of settling in with all of our changes this year. I hesitate to call this our “new normal” because I sure hope that some time we can return to some of our “old ways”. With all the changes this year, I am writing to all of you about a big change for us. We are going to move to electronic communication from the school. There will be some things that we do need to send home in paper form but as much as we can do electronically, we will send that way.

We have received some important changes from the Indiana State Department of Health in regards to COVID-19. While we understand the frustration that comes with frequent change, we appreciate the efforts made by state and our local health officials.
